Relationships between the countries

I, as an american did not injoy the Soviet Union. I had nicknamed it the "evil empire", but I still wanted to help improve our relationship with them. It would be the right thiing to do for our country, right? I created a bond with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev who then created a new spirit of openness or "glasnost". Now, as being in the future, I have seen that that created a downfall for the Soviet Union, when my good Vice President ( George H. W. Bush ) became president. Shame on him. This was partly my fault, but nothing bad ever happened with our relationship when i was the Prez.

Iran-Contra Scandel

During my presidency a lot of terrorist attacks occured, and i wanted to stop. The first terrorist attack that really made me think was the one in April of 1983. An explosion at the U.S. embassy in Beirut. So I started to sell items to Iran, to help their troubles. This was called the Iran-Contra Scandal. By selling arms to Iran, Iran would give up hostages that they took from the U.S. Which would be good for our country, but i guess I didn't want to be that genorous. So that ended the scandel and the U.S just went in and rescued the hostages instead of giving Iran the weapons.

Reagan101(Introduction)

Hello My name is Ronald Reagan I am the 40th President of the United States of America I was born on Feb. 6, 1906 in tampico Illinois. My political party in the beginning was Democratic until 1962 and then I became a Republican. My Family consists of my mother and father John and Nelle Reagan and I had one older brother. I was taught how to read by my mother when i was only 5.I went to a highschool in Dixon and after I graduated, I went to Eureka college where I played football and made average grades. I graduated from eureka in 1932. At the end of college, my first job was as a radio announcer, then in 1937 I had a seven year contract with Warner Brothers as an actor in Hollywood. I was in about 50 movies. I was also the 33rd governer of California from 1967 through 1975. During World War Two I was called to Pearl Harbor as an Active Duty, which lead to me being in the First Motion Picture Unit for the Army Air Force. I knew I was going to be president when I was in for Republican Nomination in 1980. My Vice President was elected to be George H. W. Bush. Soon after I took office, an assasination was made on my life. I was shot at by 6 bullets, but only 1 of them hit me, which happened to cause a collapsed lung. Unfortionatly, the man who tried to kill me, was not pressed charges against by reason of insanity. So, instead of going to jail, he went to a mental institution.I retired after my second term in office due to my Alzheimer's Disease. I then died of Phneumonia on June 5, 2004.
